Via Affirmativa, or The Way of Affirmation, exists to serve those who are “Revealing God and His ways through the making of art.”

In a world of both discord and splendor, we want to partner with you in forming aesthetic narratives that both engage our culture as well as wrestle with faith in a prevailing beauty. We seek to create space in which to affirm creative and artistic callings; to re-imagine responses to life’s great questions; and to work out our contributions with others who are energized by the same quest.

Via Affirmativa is formed by an ancient narrative in which God gifts creation with its own creative voice in order to imagine a relationship with God that manifests itself in redemptive actions and compelling explorations of beauty, goodness and truth. We understand the life of Jesus to be both a creative example of God’s redemptive imagination as well as a God-created space which is drawing humanity, and pulling like gravity, towards that which is beautiful.

As we endeavor to engage the world by creatively participating in this unfolding narrative, Via Affirmativa seeks to:

• Challenge and Support artists to take risks with ideas and creativity
• Cultivate a collaborative and redemptive arts culture in specific localities
• Connect like-minded art-makers and provide mentoring in the arts
• Create inspiration by opening up spaces for artists to engage one another in dialogue about faith, culture and art.
