Get Your Slippers On.
We have written many things over the past month for those of you who are attending next week’s VAF gathering in Minneapolis. But what about those who cannot come? Well, this post is for you.
After each day of the gathering next week we will try to post a summary of the day’s events here (along with some pictures). So next Thursday, Friday and Saturday night you can check in to see what you are missing. Eventually, we will try to include some audio as well.
But for now, you can plan on a late night glass of wine, your slippers, and a good read. We will do our best to keep you in the know.

I can hardly wait to be with such a talented group. Joel Hasting will perform classical piano, Kyle Gregory will bring us Jazz from Italy . Jason Harms and his jazz group will be with us. There will be an original score from Chuck Blakeman called New heaven and New earth. Actors will perform original works and Amt Wevodau will read from her origional poetry. With over 70 artist from across the US we will be exploring the idea that “art for arts sake” may not be a legitimate moptivation for art. Our theme is the value of the works of our hands. What if what we create was an extension of our lives being lived for the glory of God? What if the idea that “glory” sometimes carries with it the idea of a physical manifestation?
The answers to those questions will be what we hope to discover during our days together.

Finally we will see the world premier of a film on the life of Liviu Mocan a Romanian sculptor. YOu will not want to miss this film.
